Wishing You and Yours A Happy Holiday Weekend

I'm full of turkey. I've seen ClinkShrink & Roy-- I know they are alive and well, and Roy mumbled something about putting up a podcast.

Pecan pie is good for the soul, even if it's not chocolate, of this I am sure.

Until the Sunday New York Times, my best to our Shrink Rap readers and may the holiday find you with lots to be thankful for!

Thanksgiving and Christmas are very stressful times for me. So many on the support groups I'm on have been separated from their children (often by court order), family disowned them etc etc

This year though, my duties have been lighter than ever before, many are stepping up to help. Skype and IM have probably saved a few lives.

So from Australia, where we don't "do" Thanksgiving, I'm saying thanks for an easy time so far.

Happy Holiday weekend to you as well. I worked Thanksgiving evening from 3-11 (I had accidentally signed myself up, and then work refused to take me off - my holiday this year is to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 7a-7p), so my family and boyfriend celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday instead. It was very nice, and I'm always incredibly thankful for each and every one of them.

Christmas has always been my favorite time of year - and this year I'm heading to Florida for awhile in December for a conference/my birthday/visit with grandparents, so I get to celebrate the holidays for much of December! Can't wait!!

Happy Holidays,
Carrie :)

Us Canadians celebrate in October (and for me at least, it's an opportunity to either escape to the cottage, or get the heck out of town - as I did this year). I have to think about the "thankfulness"-it's not something that's been ingrained in me - at least from a cultural standpoint.
