The draft of the book, along with it's Table of Contents and The Suggested Reading (which you helped with!) is now officially done and off to the copy editor. Miraculously, we didn't kill each other, but there were moments....
How long did it take? Who knows any more, at least two years. Roy wrote (finally). Lots of forensic psychiatry. Lots of psychiatry psychiatry. It's done. And we're actually still friends.
Spring of 2011, Johns Hopkins University Press.
Congratulations!! When can I get a copy? Kindle or iBook perhaps? :-)
you didn't use my title! but I'll definitely keep an eye out for that book anyway..
Congratz on getting the hard part done ;D
Congrats. Must be a huge weight off your shoulders.
Hey guys right on!
There are folks who wish they could. Then there are folks who know they can, but don't get there. Then there is an exceptional group with drive and motivation that make it. Who cares how many chocolate biscuits were consumed.
You each have such experience. To channel those talents together and to focus them in to a body of work, is for us (your medical colleagues, patients and those who are a bit of both) a book we look forward to.
I am a foundation member of the medical fraternity that thought psychiatry was a strange science, until I needed your help. You helped and I am eternally grateful.
I donate a goat every year in a care package (as you suggested in a post) to Heifer International in thanks for the help psych has given me.
Support ducks and goats of great-fullness are your legacy. Tiny cover designs of a duck and goat would be so cute and imperceptible to the general reader.
Congrats on a task well done......
Mazel tov !! What an almighty achievement and so glad that you shared the process with us. And of course I love the title, having been a stauch supporter of it from way back :)
when does the movie come out?
A big congratulations for a phenomenal feat!
Did you go with the Freud cover? Part of me still hopes there's a duck somewhere in there :)
Congratulations! I'm looking forward to buying the book as soon as it comes out - and I don't hand over my hard earned money very easily... :)
Hurray and Congratulations! Pass the chocolate around!
