  1. Marsha Linehan told the WSPA in a talk ~10 years ago that only Li and contacting a patient AFTER the end of treatment had proven to "prevent" suicide. Your article associates "depression" and suicide, but here in WA you have to prove you are NOT "depressed" in order to get physician assisted suicide. We need to stop associating mental illness with suicide which increases the stigma. Instead we should normalize it so people contemplating killing themselves will feel free to openly discuss their thoughts without fear that they will be locked up for craziness. Competent adults have a right to choose death.
