I too went to a movie and talk last night in Ellicott City. At least my movie (Mozart and the Whale) was light-hearted, funny, and had a happy ending. Maybe you should have gone to that instead. haha! I'll definitely be sure to stay away from "The Return"!
ReplyDeleteI saw this film a couple of years ago. Yes, it's depressing, but shows family dynamics in a very interesting, although disturbing, way. Anyways - shouldn't cinema move us to the core, leave us in a state of moral and emotional restlessness?
ReplyDeleteI remember watching Chan-wook Park's 'Vengeance' trilogy, with each part giving me and my husband sleepless nights, during which we surfed the net trying to decipher the symbolism, and had heated discussions about all different aspects of vengeance...
